Description
Nassfeld - Sun Ski World is a popular ski resort located in the Austrian Alps near the border with Italy. Nassfeld has a rich history dating back to the 14th century when the region was known for its mining activities. Over time, it transformed into a traditional mountain village and later developed into a purpose-built ski resort. Today, it combines modern infrastructure with the charm of an alpine village.
The resort's atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it a great place to socialize and celebrate with friends and fellow skiers.
The majority of the resort is red, so intermediate skiers can cruise nicely all day.
Tröpolach is a resort lower down, that is also connected to the Nassfeld ski area - this backdoor resort is connected the the area by 3 gondolas, one of which crosses a vast valley allowing for some amazing views. They will take you all the way to the top of the ski area in aprox 20min.
For confident skiers the return trip can be done by skis on a long red run from the top of "Carina", conditions pending, as it sits at a low altitude of 610m. However, there's always the potential to ski most of the way and take the Millenium 1 back down 5 min the rest of the way.
