Description
Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a popular ski area located in the Austrian Alps, known for its extensive terrain and vibrant après-ski scene.
It is made up of four linked ski resorts: Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn. The muli-day ski pass also extends to the neighbours in Zell am See Kaprun.
Over the years, the resort has grown and developed, expanding its ski infrastructure and attracting visitors from all over the world. It has an impressive modern and continuously updated lift sytem.
A lot of investment is made into the area in general, it has all the features of a world class area, with great snowmaking, multiple terrain parks and progression areas, kids fun slopes, sled runs and night skiing.
We would suggest this area is much better for Intermediate skiers and above if you want to enjoy the vast variety of slopes without care. A lot of the blues in Saalbach could easily be a red in other resorts, making it a minefield if you're a first or second week progressor.
Hinterglemms beginner area is the best, with multiple carpets, drags and progression chairs, for the absolute beginners.
Off ski activities are also well catered for.
One of the highlights of Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm is its lively après-ski scene. After a day on the slopes, visitors can indulge in a wide range of entertainment options, including cozy mountain huts, vibrant bars, and nightclubs. Après ski in Saalbach is the livelies; There are bars and clubs to suit all tastes, from the lively Fire & Ice to the more laid-back Mooserwirt
This is a huge area, the towns spread along the valley and merge into one another, you could end up a fair distance from the lifts so check your nearest lift and ski bus stop.
Want to ski the area but stay in a quieter and more traditional town? Leogang or Fieberbrunn.
Fieberbrunn's ski terrain is particularly favored by freeride enthusiasts, with ample off-piste opportunities and thrilling powder runs. In addition to its world-class skiing, Fieberbrunn exudes a welcoming ambiance, making it a popular destination for families and those seeking an authentic Austrian mountain experience.
