Espace Lumière

Espace Lumière is a stunning ski area situated in the French Alps, spanning across the border between the departments of Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Alpes-Maritimes. 

The ski area is a result of the merger of two resorts, Pra Loup and Val d'Allos, which joined forces to create Espace Lumière. 

Pra Loup is a purpose-built ski resort, known for its modern infrastructure and excellent facilities. It was developed in the 1960s and has since become a popular destination for winter sports enthusiasts. 

Val d'Allos, on the other hand, is a traditional alpine village with a rich history. The village has preserved its charming character and provides visitors with an authentic mountain experience. 

Espace Lumière is well-connected, allowing easy access to the ski slopes. From Pra Loup, skiers can enjoy direct access to the bulk of the ski area, while Val d'Allos has a smaller direct area, mainly comprising of Blue runs. Between the 2 areas lies a valley, through which you must transfer to reach the other resort. It is important to note that the connecting slopes are all Red or Black, so for beginner skiers, choosing the home resort is very important. Absolute beginners would be fine in either, but those finding their feet might find the selection in Val d'Allos limiting. 

When it comes to the après-ski scene, Espace Lumière offers a vibrant and lively atmosphere. In Pra Loup, visitors can find a variety of bars, restaurants, and clubs where they can unwind and socialize after a day on the slopes. Val d'Allos, with its traditional village ambiance, provides a more relaxed après-ski experience, with cozy mountain chalets and charming local establishments.
