Located in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Aletsch Arena is a stunning ski resort that offers breathtaking views from its 2 high altitude view points at over 3000m.
The resort is situated in the canton of Valais, Switzerland, and is famous for its proximity to the Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Aletsch Arena has a purpose-built ski resort that was designed with skiers in mind. It consists of three main villages: Riederalp, Bettmeralp, and Fiescheralp, all of which are car-free. These villages offer a charming alpine atmosphere with traditional Swiss chalet-style architecture and provide easy access to the ski slopes - accessed by Gondola from the base of the valley. You can also stay at the bottom of the Valley in Fiesch, Lax, Morel or Betten dorf. These all sit on the Glacier Express railway line.
The ski area of Aletsch Arena is extensive, covering over 100 kilometers of connected slopes suitable for all levels of skiers, from beginners to advanced. The resort has a good mix of blue, red, and black runs, as well as several snow parks and off-piste opportunities for more adventurous skiers. All holiday resorts in the valley of the Aletsch Arena are easily accessible by public transport. The feeder trains Mörel-Riederalp, Betten Talstation-Bettmeralp and Fiesch-Fiescheralp run all year round.
From Geneva - Take the train direct to Brig [IR90] in 2hr 30
The take a local connecting train to any of the feeder stations (eg 8 min to Mörel)
From Zurich take the train to Brig in 2hr then transfer to the feeder station by regional train.
